Meet Curt Siters
While not quite a "rebel" Curt has always walked a different path. As a child he wasn't into sports like his peers, preferring to read just about anything he could get his hands on, including science, sci-fi/fantasy, westerns, history and many more. This path extends into the present where he not only does websites but also is an advocate for the environment and alternative health.
Having grown up in a fairly well isolated cove in Central Pennsylvania his only exposure to medicine and healing, oddly enough, was the allopathic/western medicine model. The closest he ever came to natural medicine was paregoric which is now considered a Schedule III drug by the FDA. Like most people in more populated areas he received medicine created by the fast growing pharmaceutical industry - medicine such as penecillin and asprin.
Many years ago he started on the path to replace allopathic medicines in his life, not because they didn't work but because they just did not feel right. He looked into herbs, and even though ST. Johns Wort helped to eliminate his bouts of depression, they just felt too weak to be properly beneficial.
Curt also tried to explore essential oils - the kind you find in supermarkets and health food stores - but his body screamed "NO" anytime he reached for them! If he touched the bottles he got a foul taste in his mouth and his body felt tainted. In the meantime he kept using herbal supplements and herbal teas to aid in maintaining his health and helping him to fight any sickness that came his way. He never gave up trying to find remedies and supplements that were strong enough to work in a reasonable amount of time and yet still be natural with minimal possible side effects.
He also was trying buy local but it wasn't panning out. Curt's search went on for ten years - curious about all the claims he came across and yet not trusting them. He knows there is a lot of hype and wordplay about a lot of things including, but not limited to, medicine and supplements.
Then about 9 months after the terrorist attack of 9-11 he met Evelyn who had been into essential oils for many years previous to their meeting. When she introduced him to Young Livings oils he didn't get the reaction he receives when touching supermarket and health food stores.
"When I touched Young Living Essential Oil products for the first time I didn't get any repulsion and I thought how curious that was, after all essential oils are essential oils - right? However, after helping Evelyn with her back problem (she had been in a car accident five years prior to our meeting and it left her back messed up) over the course of about 6 months with almost nightly back massages and going through several bottles of Release™ I came to realize that the essential oils and essential oil based products from Young Living were exaclty what I was searching for."
Over the ensuing years he has come to realize that although traditionally oils may have been used for a particular purpose or Gary Young has created a blend to accomplish something specific it may not be what you need. This is due to the fact that while two people may have back pain, the underlying reasons may be different. One of them may be due to stress while the other may be due to an injury.
Even beyond that there are factors that contribute to the situation as it is at any particular moment. In the case of the back injury this may mean that the injury still exists or that the person is fearful that it may be injured again. So taking BLM™ may or may not be the answer to help promote healing. Using PanAway™ or Relieve It™ may or may not reduce the pain.
"You may have to take a step back, get in touch with the situation and see if something else may work. In the case of some back pain a few years back and PanAway™/Relieve It™ not working I tried Motivation™ based upon a feeling I had. What I experienced was almost like a "hole" opening up and about 90% of the pain disappearing immediately and the rest fading away quickly after that."
"With pure, unadulterated oils like Young Living Essential Oils just start with what traditional use has been and if that doesn't work try something else. It may be that your body is lacking something it needs and what you are experiencing is nothing more than your body trying to get your attention.
While that may sound like a copout, even allopathic medicine is the same - if aspirin doesn't work, try acetominophen. If that doesn't work try ibuprofen. If that doesn't work you may have to get into the harder stuff like codeine..." Keep in mind that not all Young Living Essential Oils are without side effects. Always do your research as some - such as citrus essential oils when applied to the skin can cause photo-sensitivity some are extremely strong and shouldn't be used by pregnant women.
